Upon successful completion of this course the student will: understand SAR theory, understand essential skills and equipment for emergency survival, have the basis knowledge of wilderness travel, understand and recognize stress problems in SAR, know the basic techniques to conduct a search, know how to handle evidence, understand the importance of clues and the importance of lost person behavior/histories, be aware of considerations for managing external influences and the importance of planning a rescue operation.
