Expandable Baton Certification

This course involves lecture, demonstrations, hands-on skill development and certification testing. Participants will learn: key definitions, baton nomenclature, maintenance procedures, target areas as denoted on the Monadnock Baton Chart, as well as demonstrate minimum competency in stance, patterns of movement, grip positions, methods of carry, two draws from a holder, two-handed blocks for various plains of attack, one and two-handed counter-strikes, and baton retention skills.



In addition, participants will review basic instructional methods, safety procedures and course management techniques. Certification as an MEB Basic Instructor depends on satisfying three specific tests: proficiency, knowledge and ability to teach the minimum acceptable performance standards for proficiency and knowledge. Printed courseware in the form of a student handbook and the Monadnock Baton Chart will be provided to participants. CDs MEB Instructor lesson plan, will be provided only to those who qualify for MEB Advanced Instructor Certification.
